Duel on Mustafar – Don’t underestimate its power

The Duel on Mustafar is one of the most iconic and memorable lightsaber battles throughout the Star Wars cinematic saga. One would think that would call for a much larger, more dynamic set. But set #75269 Duel on Mustafar from the Revenge of the Sith packs quite a punch for what it lacks in size.

For starters this set includes an anger enraged Sith-eyed Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader) and Obi-Wan minifigures. You can never go wrong when these two Jedi/Sith are included in any set. Always makes it a must buy, especially when you can get the prequel versions of either. The set comes with 208 pieces and is a good value, usually selling for $19.99.

If you enjoy lava or translucent orange bricks, this set is loaded with them. We were quite impressed with the volume of orange, yellow, and red bricks throughout. Again, while small, Lego did a nice job making the set intense with the color flow.

When the set is open to expand the landscape

The best part is the playable features that are unique for such a small set. First, is the ability to open and close to make a larger scale view of the battle. With a click and lock system, it’s easy to move and stays secure. Second, is the sliding function of the platforms Anakin and Obi-Wan are on, just like the movie. Not only do they slide along a track, they offer 360 degree motion to add some action to the scene. Lastly, the tower can topple over and crash the battle, offering additional excitement.

Anakin and Obi-Wan ready to battle
Moveable lightsaber battle features

All in all, we gave this set a 6.5/10 on the NiceBrixx scale. Pros are the moveable features, block colors, and Anakin and Obi-Wan minifigures. The cons are the set size, we’d like a bigger Mustafar set, and more scenery to add depth to this awesome moment from Revenge of the Sith. We recommend patience when wanting to purchase this set as you can usually find it for 20% off.
