Hey there!
Nicebrixx is a love for me, Dave, and my son, Zander. It’s also become a family affair for my wife and daughter. We started Nicebrixx to share our passion of Lego’s of all shapes, sizes, and themes. Like most, I started collecting and playing when I was young and have passed the enjoyment on to my family, especially my son, Zander.
Here’s our story!
From the time I was young, Lego’s were a part of my life. The space theme and castle themes were my favorite and I could spend hours upon hours building and creating. But with many random moves in my life and the need for my family to downsize, Lego’s started to disappear or were passed down to younger cousins. As I got older and had kids, I wanted to make sure they enjoyed and cherished the creative mind Lego helps create.
From the time Zander was about four we immediately started to get him Lego City sets. Every time we’d visit a store, we’d hear, “Dad, let’s go check out the Lego’s.” We still do to this day, but mostly it’s me asking him to check them out with me! One time, we visited a new Lego store near us and he was thrilled with the wall of bricks. As any good parent would, I was compelled to make a purchase. Brick by brick I filled up our container until it ran over, grabbing all kinds of random pieces to help us grow our collection. We were excited to get home and see our bounty. When I got home, Zander started laughing as he was looking through what we had just bought. I asked what was so funny. He started to show me 20 plus pieces of the exact same piece you’d use to make wings on a ship or plane! I was so embarrassed as I completely thought I was getting both a left and a right angle.
When Zander was 6 or 7 he begged my wife to enter a contest from the Lego magazine. To humor him, she did. A few weeks later, we receive a package in the congratulating us from a company we’d never heard of. After some research we realized she had won an all expense paid trip to opening of the brand new (at the time) Legoland in Kissimmee, FL. What a getaway. The kids first time flying, we tricked them to think they were dropping me off for a business trip. The kids were in awe of what you could create with your imagination and, of course, so was I. It was their first time in Florida and first time for anyone at Legoland. Check out the quick video where we surprised them at the airport. (Legoland Surprise).
Why a website?
Since then we’ve been builders and collectors. To this day, we still run through any store or website looking for deals, cool sets, or anything of Lego interest. What we enjoy most are finding the unique features of each set we build, strategies on saving a few dollars along the way, and sharing our love of Lego with those around us. We’re hoping this site will give you just that, a quick glance at reviews, buying approaches and grow your love of Lego. We also hope to introduce you to some Nicebrixx along the way!
We hope you join us on this journey and share in our passion!
