Anytime you can find a set that offers four Iron Man minifigures you should immediately buy it, no questions asked. That’s exactly what Marvel Avengers set #76125 provides you along with two of Thanos Outriders and two of Iron Man’s robots from his workshop in the Avengers Compound. Each minifigure is from the Iron Man trilogy, Infinity War and sets a great standard for minifigures of one character in a set.
As far as the suits or armor go, this set is unmatched. First is the, now legendary, MK 1 from the original Iron Man movie that kicked off the entire MCU. The color is clean silver and, although the same size as the other figures, the helmet has a bulkier look, making it true to form. From Iron Man 2, there is MK 5, with attention to detail key to this beauty. Much like the movie, you can see the smaller pieces of armor embedded in the rib cage and here we’re introduced to a flip-up face mask on the helmet. From Iron Man 3 is the suite known as “bones” or MK 41. This armor was used in the final battle scene and destroyed with the clean slate protocol. Black and gold in color, this is not your typical configuration. Last but not least is MK 50 from Infinity War. Lego and Marvel took up a notch with this suit and Tony Stark head. The suits looks lightweight, similar to the nanotechnology and the lack of details is a win as it falls in line with the movie. The best part is the blue interface shaded over Tony’s face on one side of the headpiece. Also included is a hair piece for when Tony isn’t wearing his armor. The only downside to having 4 minifigures included is the three earlier versions of armor come with a clear head piece for the minifigure. Although it’s logical – Tony can’t wear all four suits at the same time.
Other playable characters included are the easy to love Dum-E, Tony’s favorite target when looking to give one of his mech’s a hard time. He comes with Fire extinguisher and, of course, a fire to put out. It gets better with the addition of Tony’s Mech IGOR. This mech has some unique construction and opens to allow Tony to fit in perfectly. Lego went all out with IGOR and gave him moveable fingers and incorporated a callback to Bionicle’s with the ball and socket joint construction.
The set design itself is an easier one to build since the armor storage bays are repeatable pieces locked in place with hinges allowing you form any shape you’d like when playing with or setting this up as a show piece. The biggest win of the build is the centerpiece itself, the rotating pad where Tony assembles his armor and can be used for either suiting up or taking off any armor set Tony has. Included are moveable arms to enable the most realistic play. Additionally, there is a desk with holographic screens, calling out Tony’s advanced technology and translucent stickers. When looking at the details of the stickers, they’re a replica of the keyboards used in Iron Man’s other workshops or facilities. A really nice touch and attention to detail by Lego here. From the movies, we all know Tony enjoys his smoothies, tools, and other gadgets which are all included in the various open bays of this set.
There are quite a few NiceBrixx within this set. Specifically, #6092115 is a chrome colored molding piece that adds fantastic detail to the individual armor bays. This piece can serve many purposes for future MOC’s being used as another piece of armor, details to any vehicle you’re creating, or just another detail when creating bigger weapons or buildings. Piece #6246896, a blue translucent dome, happens to be the base of Iron Man’s armor suit up console. We found this piece to be the most dynamic and unique to the set as it can be used as a radar, a large radius blast coming from a weapon or a dome to a building, letting in light. Lastly, #4211584 serves as the top of each bay configuration and can serve many purposes in your creations.
Iron Man Hall of Armor sells consistently on the Lego website for $59.99 which is a good value considering you get 4 Iron Man figures, 2 Outriders and 2 robot’s from Tony’s workshop. Amazon and other third party sites tend to have this set on sale for $47.99 which makes this set an immediate buy! With 524 total pieces, you’re getting a huge value per piece. On the NiceBrixx scale we give this one a 9 out of 10 as we’re fans of scenes that are true to form, and we really enjoy Iron Man sets. The build is repeatable which makes it go by faster than other 500+ piece and can be easier for younger builders. We recommend this as an immediate buy regardless of your price point. This one has been on the market a while and should be retiring within the next year. Grab it while you can and suit up!
